For integrators: a demonstration without hardware and a tested automation core

Want to show or test a system before installation? HoumeOS has a simulation mode that runs the whole flow without real devices — ideal for demos, training and checking scenarios. And quality is not promised, it is proven with tests.

For the installer and the integrator two things matter: being able to show and test the system before you are on a roof or at the client's panel — and trusting that the core behind it is verified. HoumeOS gives you both.

Test without hardware

HoumeOS has a simulation mode that runs the whole flow without real devices. This is a full demonstration and testing, available today, and it is ideal for:

  • a demo in front of the client — you show the logic and the screens without carrying a box of relays;
  • training — a new team member gets used to the modes and rules safely;
  • checking scenarios and hazards — you test how the system behaves under a shortfall, a triggered alarm or a switched-off device, before that happens in the real home.

The simulation uses the same screens and the same server logic as production — what you see in the demo is what the client will get.

A new device without rework

The integrations are modular: the interface and the automations do not depend on the protocol. A new manufacturer is added with a driver, without touching the other screens. For you as an integrator this means you can combine an inverter, a heat pump, radio sensors and cameras in one project. How exactly — in All brands in one system and What is MQTT.

Quality is not promised, it is proven

The rule core is covered by automated tests, and the platform also has checks for data storage, roles and histories. For the integrator this is the difference between "we hope it works" and "we know it works": a change in the logic does not silently break previous behavior, because the tests catch it.

What this means at deployment

  • Faster commissioning — you test the scenarios in simulation, then run them on the real site.
  • Fewer surprises on site — the logic is verified before the installation.
  • Predictable growth — a new device or feature is an addition, not a rework.

An honest note

The simulation mode and the modular architecture work today. A real MQTT broker and the first devices connected through it, Zigbee/BLE via a gateway, and the visual rule editor are next steps — we do not present them as ready. Check the current status in The roadmap.
